Plant seeds no deeper than 1/4″. Look for germination within 7 to 14 days.

Collards are an old Florida favorite. It is not only a hardy plant, surviving extreme heat and cold, but begin harvesting within 2 months of planting. Never harvest any more than 1/3 of the plant at any given time. Harvest outside leaves first, then work in toward the center. Always remember, the cooler the temperatures, the better tasting your greens are sure to be!

North Florida: Grow Collards August through March. We recommend partial sun exposure (preferably morning sun) August through October. Full sun is recommended from November through March.

Central Florida: Grow Collards August through March. We recommend partial sun exposure (preferably morning sun) August through October. Full sun is recommended from November through March.

South Florida: Grow Collards September through February. We recommend partial sun exposure (preferably morning sun) September through November. Full sun is recommended from December through February.
