Basil happens to be one of those herbs that seems like it was made for the Sunshine State! Sow seeds no deeper than 1/4″ (Seed Germination within 14-21 Days). Basil is not freeze tolerant, so make sure that seeds are not started when there is a danger of freezing temperatures.
During the Fall/Winter Growing Season, Morning sun is recommended during the early part of the season, then Full Sun is recommended during the middle and later season. Full sun is recommended during the early part of the Spring Growing Season, then partial sun during the late Spring Growing Season. Limited morning sun is recommended during the Summer Growing Season.
