Description

Romaine Lettuce was originally named “Roman Lettuce” because it was one of the most cherished leafy staples of the Roman Empire.

Generally speaking, Romaine Lettuce can be successfully grown throughout Florida from September through March.

Romaine Lettuce seeds are very small, so it is recommended to barely covered with soil. For best results, sprinkle a light layer of soil on top of them. Less is more. Do not sow seeds any deeper than the length of the seed itself.

Partial sun is best for growing Romaine Lettuce. As usual Morning Sun will be the preferable type of light. Plants will be able to tolerate more sun as the days grows shorter in December and January.
