Description
Sage grows well in the ground or in a container during the Fall/Winter and Spring Growing Seasons! It can be grown year-round in a container. Younger Sage plants can be affected by freezing temperatures, but mature plants are normally unaffected.
North Florida: We recommend growing Sage in the Full Sun from October through April, then Partial Sun (preferably Morning Sun) from May through September. From May through September we only recommend container gardening. October through April, in-ground and container gardening are recommended.
Central Florida: We recommend growing Sage in the Full Sun from November through April, then Partial Sun (preferably Morning Sun) from May through October. From May through October we only recommend container gardening. November through April, in-ground and container gardening are recommended.
South Florida: We recommend growing Sage in the Full Sun from December through March, then Partial Sun (preferably Morning Sun) from April through November. From May through October we only recommend container gardening. December through March, in-ground and container gardening are recommended.
Traditionally, Sage is used to enhance the flavor of soups, potatoes, and poultry.
