Description
Copenhagen Market is an old Heirloom Cabbage that was originally brought to America in the late 1800’s from Denmark. Average head of Copenhagen Market Cabbage weighs between 2.5 and 5 pounds and produces a tight head 6″ to 7″ in diameter.
Productive and easy to grow, Cabbage is a perfect fit for the Floridian Fall/Winter Garden. Cabbage can be shredded into a slaw, cooked like other leafy vegetables, or fermented into Kimchi or Sauerkraut. Harvest outside leaves throughout the season and the entire head at full maturity. Cabbage tolerates frost, but may not survive a hard freeze. Starting from seed, expect to harvest within 80 to 110 days. If transplanting, 70 to 90 days.
The Cooler Months are an excellent time to grow Cabbage in Florida. Plant Cabbage in well-drained soil, that receives plenty of sunlight. Start Cabbage from seed August through February in North Florida (Harvest through May), September through February in Central Florida (Harvest through the end of April), and September through January in South Florida (Harvest through Early April).
Seed Pack contains 120+ Heirloom Seeds. Sow Seeds no deeper than 1/4″.
