Fordhook 242 Lima Beans are an old heat-tolerant Butter Bean variety (Lima Bean). The plant does best when grown on a trellis or near a structure that it can “grab on to”. Fordhook Lima Beans are nitrogen-fixing, meaning that they help to add nitrogen back into the soil. If fertilizing, fertilize at half (or less) the normal rate.
