Description
Nasturtiums are a Florida-Friendly Edible Flower! The entire plant is edible from its bourgening blooms to its tender leaves. The flowers are typically eaten fresh in salads or used to add a floral garnish to any dish. Nasturtiums are an excellent source of Vitamin C.
Sow seeds after the last frost, no deeper than a 1/2″. If planting in the garden, space them about 10 to 12 inches apart. Nasturtiums prefer a well-drained soil. We recommend full sun for Nasturtiums during the Fall/Winter and Spring Growing Seasons and only morning sun during the Summer Growing Season. Thrives as a potted plant in the container garden!
North & Central Florida: Grow Nasturtiums from Spring through the Fall (from last frost through early December). Seeds can be started anytime after the last frost or indoors a couple of weeks prior to the last frost. We recommend Full Sun to Partial Sun during the Fall/Winter and Spring Growing Seasons. Summertime, we only recommend morning sun.
South Florida: Grow Nasturtiums Year-Round. Seeds can be started anytime after the threat of frost has passed. We recommend Full Sun to Partial Sun during the Fall/Winter and Spring Growing Seasons. Summertime, we only recommend morning sun.
