Important Information:
Your plant will be mailed within two days of your order being placed. You will receive an email that contains the USPS Tracking Code. Please closely follow the tracking information, to know exactly when to expect the plant’s arrival. As soon as the plant arrives, immediately open it, and water it well. We give the plant a very thorough soaking prior to shipping, so your plant should arrive in good shape. If the leaves may appear droopy upon arrival, a good watering will help them “perk up” after a couple of hours.
Plant is growing in a 3″ x 3″ coconut husk pot. Plant height is about 3″.

Growing Instructions
Grow Purslane throughout the year in your Florida Garden! Plant will thrive in a container or in the ground. We recommend growing it in Full Sun or most Sun during the Fall/Winter Growing Season and into Early Spring. Grow Purslane in Partial Sun, preferably Morning Sun, from Late Spring, into Summer.
Purslane is one of the best-kept secrets in the world of herbs. It is a superfood, well-known for being nutritious and nourishing. Purslane is best known for containing the highest levels of plant-based Omega-3 Fatty Acid. It is also a great source of Vitamin C and other Anti-Oxidents. Purslane has been eaten for thousands of years, not only because of its fresh flavor, but due to its health benefits.
In 2014 there was a major study conducted, inestigating Purslane’s possible health benefits. The study has been published on the National Institute of Health’s website. Here is an excerpt of the study’s conclusion:
“As a significant source of omega-3 oils, P. oleracea [Purslane] could yield considerable health benefits to vegetarian and other diets where the consumption of fish oils is excluded. Scientific analysis of its chemical components has shown that this common weed has uncommon nutritional value, making it one of the potentially important foods for the future. Presence of high content of antioxidants (vitamins A and C, alpha-tocopherol, beta-carotene, and glutathione) and omega-3 fatty acids and its wound healing and antimicrobial effects as well as its traditional use in the topical treatment of inflammatory conditions suggest that purslane is a highly likely candidate as a useful cosmetic ingredient.” https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3934766/
Make sure that Purslane is not growing too close to other plants, it is a crawling herb.
Pursalne will thrive throughout the year, except for when there is a threat of frost. We recommend growing Purslane in a container for most of the year. It can be planted in the ground during the Spring and Early Winter Growing Seasons, but will not survive the direct sunlight of the Summer. During the Summer, it is especially important to grow Purslane in a container.
