Tomatillo Seeds

The tomatillo is extremely frost sensitive and can be grown throughout the year in Florida. Morning sun is advisable for most of the year, except it can tolerate full sun during the Winter. Similar to a tomato it is a fruit, but unlike a tomato, grows inside of a husk. The fruit is green and has a flavor that is best described as a cross between tomato and citrus.

North Florida & Central Florida: Grows well in the ground and in container gardens. Tomatillos will flourish all year, except for when temperatures drop below 50 degrees.

South Florida: Grows well in the ground and in container gardens. Since there really is not a threat of frost, grow Tomatillos year-round. Remember, only partial sun, preferably morning sun is recommended, except during Winter. Full Sun is acceptable during the Winter months.
