Grows into a small bush that produces many pea pods. When mature, peas will be cream-colored with a black spot, known as an “eye”. Black Eye Peas are exceptionally well-suited to our hot and humid Summers. This is a nitrogen-fixing plant that helps to replenish the soil’s nutrients. If fertilizing, fertilize at half (or less than half) of the normal rate.
