New Zealand Spinach is a heat tolerant leafy green that can be eaten cooked or raw. It is absolutely perfect for the Florida Climate! The flavor is very similar to traditional spinach, but New Zealand Spinach has a milder flavor.
New Zealand Spinach can be grown throughout the year in Florida. It is not frost tolerant, so for North and Central Florida, do not try to start seeds when there is a threat of frost. Floridians in South Florida can grow New Zealand Spinach anytime during the year because frost is unlikely.
We recommend Full Sun during the WInter and Morning Sun the rest of the year.
