Description

Traditionally known as a Scallion, Green Onion, or Bunching Onion, White Lisbon Onions grow exceptionally well in the Florida Garden. Successfully grow them throughout the Fall/Winter and Spring Growing Seasons. Cold-Hardy, mature plants will survive and thrive during any “cold snap” that may occur in North, Central, or South Florida.

Sow Seeds no deeper than 1/4″. Up to one third of the tops can be harvested while the plant is still growing. Generally, plants are ready to be fully harvested in 2 to 3 months. The entire plant is ready to be fully harvested  when the green tops are 6 to 8 inches tall and begin drying out (from the small bulb to the green tops). Make sure to plant plenty of these throughout the season!

Seed Pack contains 150+ Heirloom Seeds.

Growing Tip: Green Onions can be grown in containers or in the ground. We recommend growing them in containers during the warmer months of the year, then in the ground during the cooler months.

Growing Instructions

North & Central Florida: We recommend growing White Lisbon Scallions from August through April. Limit Sun Exposure to Partial or Morning Sun during the months of August, September, and April. Full or Near Full Sun is recommended from October through March. We recommend Full Sun the rest of the growing season. Keep Plants well-watered and pay close attention to the green tops of the plant.

South Florida: We recommend growing White Lisbon Scallions from September through April. Limit Sun Exposure to Partial or Morning Sun during the months of September and April. Full or Near Full Sun is recommended from October through March. We recommend Full Sun the rest of the growing season. Keep Plants well-watered and pay close attention to the green tops of the plant.

Summer Growing Season (North, Central, & South): Growing Scallions can be difficult during the Florida Summer. We only recommend attempting it if you have some growing experience a bit of extra time to closely monitor the plants. We recommend ONLY growing them in containers and ONLY exposing the plants to Morning Sun. Adequate watering is key because of the heat.
