San Marzano is a special heirloom variety of Plum Tomato that comes from Naples, Italy. Delicious whether eaten fresh or incorporated into your favorite dish, this heirloom variety is highly sought after by gourmet chefs.
Their sweet flavor, low acidity, and easy-peeling skin make them one of the most highly-prized tomato varieties in the world.
We recommend growing San Marzano Tomatoes during the Spring and Summer. They can be grown in Fall and harvested into the colder months. We advise growing them in the ground during the Spring.
During the Summer growing Season, grow them in partial sun (in-ground, preferably morning sun) or a container. The main benefit of growing them in a container during the Summer, is so that they can be easily moved if they are receiving too much sunlight
